Umbr is a Swedish company based in Boden. It was registered in 2024, which makes the company new. The work behind it is not: more than ten years of sourcing and manufacturing in China, and over twenty in ecommerce, carried out in earlier constellations before Umbr existed.
We know the technical side, from CAD and material specifications to factory negotiations and tooling costs. We know the commercial side, from Shopify and product data to dealer networks and EU compliance. The point of knowing both is that a decision taken early in a drawing sets what a product costs to sell three years later.
We are not a consultancy in the classic sense. We do not write strategy documents you have to translate into action. We do the work.
Umbr is a small team with a wider network, and part of that network is our own. We have a wholly owned company in Yantian, Shenzhen, with staff who handle sourcing, factory visits and logistics on the ground. The rest are specialists we bring in when a project needs them. Either way you have one point of contact and one party responsible.
